Great Location in Downtown San Cristobal…
Nestled in the heart of the city, we are well-known for being one of the best downtown hotels in San Cristobal de Las Casas. We’re located right in front of the Central Park and the monumental cathedral, steps away from the Plaza de la Paz, the Jade and Cacao Museum and pretty much close to everything you want to see in San Cristobal. For exploring indigenous communities and the natural wonders of southeast Mexico, our Hotel Santa Clara offers tours to the Sumidero Canyon, Montebello Lakes, Palenque, Agua Azul and other destinations you cannot miss.
A True Historical Monument…
Hotel Santa Clara brings its visitors the experience of staying in a historical monument from the XVI century. Considered the first Plateresque style house in Latin America and the only one in southeast Mexico, it was turned into a hotel in 1967. Now our guests can enjoy the exuberant adobe walls with flat finishes where wood is the main ornament; the Plateresque style façade with the colonists’ coat of arms shows a little of the extraordinary mixed-race heritage that makes this hotel in San Cristobal de Las Casas a one of a kind place.
